Hull Supervision

Site activities during new construction and steel hull repairs are monitored, with regular follow-up of work progress, inspection findings and quality records.

Method and application

Work on hull plating, decks, tanks and structural members is monitored against project drawings and technical specifications. Inspection stages are coordinated between the shipowner, shipyard and surveyor; UTM and NDT results are linked to the relevant fabrication or repair areas.

Scope of application

  • Site monitoring of steel renewal, assembly and welding work
  • Review of material records and work documentation
  • Coordination of UTM, NDT and survey schedules
  • Recording of work progress and identified non-conformities
  • Follow-up of completed work and corrective actions
The supervision scope and inspection points are defined before work starts. Acceptance of repairs within class scope and the required approvals remain with the relevant classification society.

Reporting

Site reports cover monitored areas, work progress, inspection references, outstanding items and completed corrections. Relevant records are compiled for the handover dossier.
