Method and application
Rope access is a means of access used for UTM, visual inspection and suitable NDT applications. Planning considers anchors, weather, the work area, falling object risks and rescue arrangements.
Scope of application
- Access to ship hulls, tanks and tall steel structures
- UTM and suitable NDT applications carried out with an access plan
- Site coordination and work area arrangements
- Recording of inspection areas with location information
The access method is selected according to site conditions. Rope access is not assumed to replace scaffolding or other access systems in every area.
Reporting
Inspection results are reported with the access method used and the areas examined. Inaccessible areas are identified separately.
