Vibration Analysis and Condition Monitoring

Vibration data from rotating equipment is analysed to assess changes in operating condition and maintenance requirements.

Method and application

Measurements are taken at defined points and in defined directions on equipment such as pumps, motors and fans. Data is examined alongside speed, load, mounting conditions and historical records. Indications of imbalance, misalignment, looseness and bearing issues are assessed.

A single measurement cannot determine exactly when a failure will occur. Trend monitoring requires regular, comparable measurements under similar operating conditions.

Reporting

Reports document measurement points, operating conditions, findings and follow-up recommendations. Additional examinations are planned where necessary.
